Udimet 520 is a higher-molybdenum, higher-strength development of Udimet 500 for gas-turbine discs and blades. The extra molybdenum and refined γ′ content raise creep and rupture strength while keeping good oxidation and fatigue resistance in the 650–750 °C range.
Repair-welded with matching/overalloyed fillers under a strict qualified procedure (solution treat + age). Fabrication follows turbine OEM specifications.
The grade is supplied to the following common specifications:
| Standard | Product Form / Scope |
|---|---|
| AMS 5752 | Bars & forgings |
| OEM turbine specs | PWA / GE / Rolls-Royce |

Udimet 520 (UNS N07520) is a higher-molybdenum, higher-strength development of Udimet 500 for gas-turbine discs and blades, with improved creep and rupture strength to about 750 °C while keeping good oxidation and fatigue resistance.
Aged: ≈ 1180 MPa tensile, ≈ 850 MPa yield, 14 % elongation, 34–44 HRC, with creep-rupture strength near 420 MPa at 650 °C / 1000 h.
520 adds molybdenum (4–6 % vs 3–5 %) and raises strength/creep capability while remaining in the same family. 500 is the baseline; 520 is the higher-performance derivative.
Yes, with matching/overalloyed fillers under a strict qualified procedure including solution treat and age, per turbine OEM specs.
Gas-turbine discs and blades, aero-engine rotating parts, industrial turbine hot-section components and high-temperature bolting.
Bars/forgings AMS 5752, with most production governed by OEM turbine specifications (PWA, GE, Rolls-Royce).
